We try hard to not load up with a bunch or rules, but we have to have some to ensure that your Western experience is a safe and enjoyable one. Please note the following: - The Trail Boss is the law. Period. The Cow Boss works with the authority of the Trail Boss.
- No firearms are allowed. Even if you have a CWP, leave it at home.
- All our riders must be 18 years of age. No exceptions.
- We cannot allow any dogs or other pets on the Drive. (Show Spot and Kitty the photos at home!)
- No alcoholic beverages while riding (there's a bar for you when you get to camp.)
- Willful disregard for the rules or acts of disorderliness will not be tolerated. In the interest of the safety and to ensure the pleasurable experience for the other guests, the Trail Boss or Cow Boss may remove a guest at anytime from the Drive who demonstrates these characteristics. Any mistreatment of animals or public drunkeness will get you a ride back to town as well.
- No Smoking on the trail. Smoking is permitted only when we're stopped and you are off your horse. PLEASE carefully and completely extinguish all smoking material. The range is very dry by mid-June. Fire Danger is Extremely High.
- Please do not ride your horses near the kitchen or bar. The West is littered with gravesites of those who have made this mistake.
- You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself both in camp and on the trail. Don't trash Nevada. Trash receptacles will be available at breaks and campsites. We are here to cater to you-but we're not your mom!
- No spurs while riding a Frontier Pack Train horse.
- Name badges will be provided and we'd like you to wear them. This will give us an opportunity to get to know your names. We'll be wearing them also.
- There isn't a "lights out" time as such, but we require a fairly quiet camp after 10:00 p.m., so folks who don't want to party can get some sleep. If you want to sleep peacefully after 10:00 p.m., or if you're a light sleeper, we recommend you sleep on the outer edge of camp, and rejoin your team when you are awake. There will be people up late at the campfire, telling jokes, singing, etc., and we don't put any restrictions on this as long as the noise isn't out of control (subjective determination by the Trail Boss who beds down early).
- Your Drover is your concierge on the trail. He or she is there to see to your needs. At the same time, they are there to ensure your safety, so please listen to them! These are experienced hands.
- No guest will be allowed to bring his or her horse on the cattle drive. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
