Day One-the Adventure Begins!
8:00 am

You need to arrive at the Reno Rodeo office at the Reno Livestock Events Center at 8:00 a.m. Have your Cattle Drive duffel all packed, and make sure your name is on it. Your other luggage should be left at your hotel or in your vehicle. There will be coffee, milk, juice and muffins available on the porch.
Note: Parking will be available to leave your vehicle for the week.

8:30 am

There will be a roll call, and we will check to make sure you have all of your forms in. Remember, no notarized release, no go on the Cattle Drive!

We will board the bus and head to our first camp.

When we arrive at the camp, please take all your gear (except tack) to the sleeping area (there will be a sign and crew to help you).

12:00 pm

Lunch

After lunch there will be a short meeting and you will meet your Guest Drover, teamster--their wagons and teams that will be moving your gear from camp to camp.

Saddle up! You will meet Dave Dohnel and his crew from Frontier Pack Train and be assigned your horse. Please have your slicker or jacket to tie on your saddle with you. You'll want to take care of securing that. We'll go on about an hour ride to get all the tack set and get you used to your horse. PLEASE be patient, it takes a little time to get everyone settled in and matched to their horse.

Following the ride, your Drover will have some activities for you!

6:00 pm

The Chuck Wagon Crew will ring the dinner bell so get ready for the first of several great suppers!

After, we'll build a fire and get ready to enjoy some live western entertainment, cowboy poetry and singing.

The Last Day

On Thursday, the last day of the Drive, we'll enter Reno from the North Valleys. We will be on pavement for several miles, with the Drive ending at the Rodeo grounds. The plan is to hit the intersection of Clear Acre and McCarran at Noon. Here's a map for your family and friends to come out and watch you bring in the herd.

Best places to watch cattle drive coming in to Reno.
