I was raised on a wheat ranch in South Eastern Washington, where I grew up around cattle and horses. During one of my high school years I participated in a Junior Rodeo at the Lewiston Roundup. Didn’t win much, but had a good time. The United States Air Force was my first career working communications which included everything from point to point to satellite tracking and control. After retiring from the Air Force I worked for a large California company, as a Regional Manager for Service of Analytical Instruments, then, on to a well known Test and Measurement Company, as International Sales Manager, until I once again retired, in 1998. During my working career I continuously dealt with fiscal responsibilities in the millions of dollars. I understand budgeting and the need for operating within budget guidelines. I became involved with the Reno Rodeo in 2002, as a Wrangler serving on several committees, including, Cattle Drive, Team Penning Co-Chair, Specialty Sales, Manpower/Nominating, three years, and have chaired the Stalls Committee for the past six years. Currently, I still serve on the Manpower Committee for which I was selected Co-Chairman of the Year in 2010. During my six years as chairman of the stalls committee, I am pleased to say, many improvements were implemented with profits, accountability and committee teamwork continually improving. I have been a Director since March 2007. The Reno Rodeo is like a family to me and a large part of my active life. | Bill Summy - Secretary

Alan Kingsley moved to the staff position at the beginning of the 1996 Reno Rodeo, after serving as a rodeo volunteer, member, and Director, beginning in 1976-77. During those years he served as Secretary of the Association for about ten years, and continued in his career in warehousing and manufacturing management, which had brought him from his home in Santa Barbara, Ca. He also worked for many years as a professional musician, playing for weddings, bar mitzvahs, and fraternity and sorority parties.
